Thanks, I got all theinformation I needed in an efficient mannerfrom a very friendly lady. 😆
Excellent starting point, very helpful staff lots of information and maps can help to identify what it is you are after during your visit to York and information about attractions I would not have had such an action packed visit if I’d been left to my own devices

Perfect for everyone with a family or not everyone is friendly.a real nice vibe I had an amazing time
A lot of folks are reviewing this as if it's the campsite or the mobile cafe, but it's actually a marina with a bit of space for dry docks and paid moorings along the river Ouse, some where people live permanently and some weekenders and holiday makers. I used to have a boat here myself and it is a very relaxing place to come and visit on a sunny weekend. They have electricity running to the moorings by the site with a meter, and their are toilets and water available to refill your water tank. There are more moorings along the riverbank that are off grid and highly sought after, and in fact some people will by a boat just to get the mooring that comes with it. It is a bit moor down to earth in its pricing and not so elitist like the marina at Naburn across the river.

Nice, small caravan park close to river in edge of York (lovely 3 Mike walk in to York from campsite - just follow the river). Very friendly staff. A little cramped, a little untidy and some noise from other (seasonal) campers but didn't spoil it overall for our brief stay. The neighbouring village is very nice and has a number of pubs for eating and drinking.
Did an airbnb here. Was really nice be sure to bring an extra layer of clothing!

A fine evening cruise. Constant narration of how the river had changed over the years. Long lists of sights to see as we traveled up and down the river. Took about 90 minutes and was great. There is a snack bar which also has drinks. There was quite a line 30 minutes prior to departure and the entire top was filled by about 15 min prior to departure so get there early if you want to sit on the upper deck. There were lots of dogs on the lower deck.
Very pleasant way to spend an hour, especially if, like we had, you've just been up and down the 275 steps of York Minister and could really use a long sit down! The commentary was witty and informative and we wished we had done it earlier in the day so we would have had the time and energy left to visit some of the places mentioned, the driver / captain / tour guide certainly seemed keen on the railway museum, maybe next time!

A really enjoyable and informative cruise along the River Ouse. Crew were great and the skipper/tour guide was informative with a great sense of humour. Would recommend.
Just had lovely week in York. Lunch time cruise with food and drink, was best thing we did. Well done.

From the lovely lady at the ticket office to the clean and comfortable bus, we so enjoyed our 24 hour ticket. The recorded guide is very informative and more than once round, it's easy to retain all the historical facts. A great way to see York and get around.
I really enjoy the journey in the bus. For one hour you can rapidly visit York and know about its history. But I have an important requirement, the service of buses and boats needs scan code machines because they are still asking for printed tickets. Then you need to go first to the visitor center even when you have online tickets. But at the end of the journey I recommend dropping off at Art Gallery and having a delicious ice cream Fresh For You Daily.

Beautiful gardens, lots of play equipment for kids of all ages and great picnic spots. Even when busy it's easy to find a quiet corner out of the sun to read or just sit. The amenities are clean and well cared for, with parking and even a small shop for those essential drinks and ice cream. I've been coming to the Homestead for over 40 years and it is the best it has ever been.
Fantastic 'old school' Park with real flower beds and borders very popular and rightly so it was a pleasure to spend an afternoon here. Full credit to the gardeners here for creating and maintaining this beautiful environment as a public space. Highly recommend a visit.

A good place to walk dogs @ a children's play area!
Always looks tidy. Good cut through to hospital or Clifton way.

Stunning little location that feels spacious and calming even when busy on a hot day! Great for a small picnic. We saw Perigrin Falcons nesting and made a furry friend with an inquisitive Bengal Cat.
Beautiful little park in the shadow of the minster. Not as well known as Museum gardens zo tends to be lots quieter. Lots of locals with kids enjoying a pucnic during the summer months and a lovely place to stroll and enjoy the tranquility away from the hussle and bustle of city centre during the winter. Its my favourite place in the city centre to escape to if I want to enjoy a sandwich in peace. Nice little war memorial at the back, lots of history and plenty of green spaces. You wont believe how quiet it is considering how central it is.

We spent about an hour going through the rooms on a tour of the house by one of the docents. You get a great impression of how the people lived at that time and what they valued. Impressive furniture and paintings. Georgian town house style.
This is the most interesting house I've visited. The story of the family, the story of the futniture, the story of the building and the visual impact of the room settings all add to a very enjoyable visit. The room guides are very knowledgeable and friendly. It's just £6 so good value. No cafe here but as its adjacent to all York has to offer, its not a problem.
